White Ceremonial Alabaster has been used by Native Americans for hundreds of years. It is mined in Southwest New Mexico and Arizona. White Ceremonial Alabaster is about 3 on the mohs hardness scale and polishes like glass! It runs from translucent to opaque. I've mined this material for over ten years in the silver City area and have supplied this material to Native American carvers.

An exquisite high-grade material comparable to no other. 

From translucent to opaque, this incredible material is used for stylized carvings or extremely detailed work . 

 Christine Banteah "Zuni Carver" has used this material for as long as I have sold it. She chooses only to carve her white owls out of this material. It seems to capture the essence of the white owl better than any other material she has found or has chosen to use. I have used this material myself in some of my own projects and have found it to be superb, and fulfilling and the outcome of any of my work that I've used this material on.
